This Friday at 9:00PM EST the GTGOldtimers Ladder will be implementing PhaseII of the myleague exciting new look and interface changes. We have the honor of being chosen one of 100 MyLeague ladders to begin PhaseII of the MyLeague changes to all ladder pages, in an effort to standardize the leagues look to make accessing and navigating the ladders easier for everyone. Some of the exciting new changes are:
Navigation
The tabbed navigation at the top of every page will replace the left-hand menu. One of the most important aspects about the new navigation structure is that every League will have the same basic structure. Over the years, we found that many Leagues did not follow the default template when customizing their main page, and this caused a lot of confusion for the users, especially users that participate on multiple Leagues.
Each League has different ways of getting to tournaments, the message forums, the standings page, etc. The tabbed navigation will ensure that navigation on every League will be consistent, thus reducing the time spent by users searching where to go to find what they are looking for.
Additionally, each tab will contain useful information right at the user’s fingertips. For example, rather than clicking four or five different links inside the tournament area, we are bringing the information directly to the Tournament tab.
Signing-Up/Signing-In
Each tab will have a “Free Sign Up” button in the upper right-hand corner, which will help your League grow. This ensures that any new visitor to your League be able to join easily.
We have also added a login box in the upper right-hand corner, so that members can log in or out from any tab. Once a member is logged in, they stay logged in, and they do not have to re-enter their information to do things like post in the message forum or fill out a support request; the remembers they are logged in and passes that information on when necessary.
Another cool feature that we are introducing is the ability to display information that updates in real-time when a user is logged in; for example, the user’s LadderBux total on the League will be displayed under their username in the upper-right corner. So no matter which tab they are viewing, they will be able to see how many LadderBux they have in their account – no more going to the ‘Find Player’ page to find out or waiting on the LadderBux summary to see the total!
Menu Links
The links for the Admin menu, TD menu, and HTD menu are now easily accessible at the bottom of each tab, so they no longer have to be bookmarked!
Home Tab
Tournament Events
The Home tab now features a more complete Tournament Calendar. A lot of Admins were embedding the Tournament Calendar on their main page using i-frames, so we have moved it to the Home tab for everyone, and it is now updated in real time. The Tournament Calendar has two tabs: a ‘Today’ tab that shows tournaments that are scheduled for that day, as well as a ‘Tourney Calendar’ tab that will display a calendar and allow you to click on the day you want to view.
League Members
This module offers a view of the Top Ranked players, but is also an expanded version of the Top 20. You can view members who are currently logged in and newest members of the League updated in real time. You can also search for a specific member and view their profile by clicking the ‘Go’ button.
Go Play Now
This button allows Admins to provide a direct backdoor link to the room the League uses to play.
MyLeague.com
The MyLeague.com site is going to be completely updated. We are redesigning it to look more modern, with better graphics and usability. We will also be making it much easier for users to find and join Leagues.
E-mail Addresses
E-mail addresses are now hidden and no longer viewable on League pages. Instead of having access to an e-mail address, which leads to spam, you will be able to contact members with an online form.
My Account
The Find Player page, Tournament Player Card, and the More Info page are now consolidated and located on the My Account tab. We included them all on one profile page, so that they could be easily viewed in one location rather than three different pages. We have also added a feature that allows you to upload an avatar to your profile page.
Avatars
Members are now able to upload an avatar to their profile page. Originally, this was a premium membership feature; however, now everyone is allowed to upload an avatar to their page, regardless of premium membership level. You can upload an avatar to your profile by visiting the 'MyAccount' tab. Click the 'Edit Avatar' button, and then choose 'Browse' to select an image from your computer.
Premium Membership Features
Premium membership features are now easier to find and use. We have taken some features that used to take 3 or 4 steps and simplified it down to one step; for example, gifting LadderBux is now easier and faster. Additionally, the upgrade membership pages have been overhauled, so that it’s easier to purchase a premium membership for yourself or another member.
Other exciting changes...
TD Donations
The maximum amount of a single TD Donation has been increased from 10,000 LadderBux to 20,000 LadderBux.
LadderBux Gifts
We have increased the allotted amount of LadderBux that Platinum and Diamond members are able to gift to other members. The new amounts are:
• Platinum – 2,000 LadderBux per week
• Diamond – 10,000 LadderBux per week
New Technology
The infrastructure of the new layout is a lot easier to work with from a programming perspective. The infrastructure has been revamped from scratch, with a much better development philosophy, which means that we will be able to fix bugs easier and add new features faster.
Additionally, please be sure that your player stats, TD stats, and premium membership will not be in jeopardy – the data will be the same, but the look will be different.
So remember that the new look will be implemented this Friday Evening at 9:00 PM EST so check it out and let us know your thoughts.
